LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars finally lay their hands on Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 2022 trophy after years of struggling on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The Sultans got off to a bad start in their 181-runs chase against Lahore Qalandars as their top order was brutally crushed early on and failed to deliver. Muhammad Rizwan was dismissed at 14, Shan Masood at 19, and Amir Azmat at 6.
The Qalandars’ bowlers were impressive as Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up three wickets, Muhammad Hafeez one and Zaman Khan two while Haris Rauf and David Weise took one each.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars had set a target of 181-runs for Multan Sultans.

The in-form Fakhar Zaman was removed for just three runs by Asif Afridi with Shanawaz Dahani taking a tough catch, while Abdullah Shafique was also sent to pavilion by the same player.
After that, Muhammad Hafeez scored brilliantly as he steered the ship for Qalandars by playing sensibly. With Kamran Ghulam, he forged a strong partnership of 54 runs to gain firm innings.
Hafeez took the attacking mode as he went after the opponent bowlers, and was finally removed for 69 runs by Dahani. He scored those runs off 46 balls with one six and nine fours.
