Use of laser lights has been prohibited around Karachi Airport, as state of emergency imposed following cowardly attack by India.
Describing the increasing use of laser lights around Jinnah International Airport Karachi as a serious threat to flights, the Commissioner Karachi has immediately banned their use, while a state of emergency is also in effect in Karachi and all flights have been cancelled.

According to Baaghi TV, the ban will apply to all areas around the airport, it has been reported. In this regard, the Commissioner Karachi says that the use of laser lights can prove to be extremely dangerous, especially during take-off and landing of aircraft. Sudden laser rays (beams) can temporarily affect the eyes of pilots, distract them or obstruct the view of equipment on the runway.
Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi further explained that in some severe cases, these laser lights can also affect the control of the aircraft, which can cause a major accident. According to the official announcement, a complete ban has been imposed on the purchase, sale and use of laser lights in and around Jinnah International Airport. The areas include Darakhshan, Landhi, Bin Qasim Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sachal, Memon Goth, and Gadap, where Section 144 has been imposed and legal action has been announced against violators.
