LAHORE, Jan 28 (APP): Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Tuesday urged the government to take all precautionary measures to avoid disaster like situation in the country due to Coronavirus.

LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh told the media here that the deadly corona virus could shift to Pakistan from China as a large number of businessmen and students travel between the two countries through dozens of flights every week.

Therefore, the government should put in place necessary safety measures on war footing.

He said the necessary safety protocols should also be applied against the China origin new strain of corona virus which has set off global alarms.

He feared that if in time precautionary measures were not adopted, then the spread of the mysterious illness could not be ruled out.

Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that special desks should be established at all airports having well equipped medical teams and all passengers from China should be checked thoroughly.

He said that goods being imported from China should also be checked deeply as virus could make its way through any source.

He also urged the National Disaster Management Authority to get ready and keep a deep eye on the situation.
