Lahore: LCCI Standing Committee on Chemical Import and Traders convener Rao Khursheed Ali has held the introductory meeting of the committee.
The meeting Thursday chalked out road map  for year 2021-22 and discussed issues conforented by the importers and traders of chamical.

The members of the committee also greeted Rao Khursheed for his appointment as the  convener of the chemical committee.
LCCI Former Vice President  Kashif Anwar,
Mian Faryad Ahmad, Sadiq Sabira, Ansar Butt, Khuram Sheikh, Mian Shakeel, Imran Bashir, Zubair Shehzad, Khuram Shehzad and others were present on the occasion.
In the first meeting, the committee members introduced themselves.
The convener said that the committee would do its utmost to resolve the sectors issues.
He said that the committee would take up various issues including duty and taxes, smuggling and others.
Talking specially about the chamical import and negative attitude of the law enforcement agencies against the legal import, he said that the smugglers are free to bring in the country’s centres any chemical while legal importers have to face nuemrours impediments in the smooth functioning of their business which is an injustice.
Kashif Anwar said that importers are facing huge fines and undue regulatory duties which need emergent redressal and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Federal Board of Revenue  (FBR) must be taken on the board to resolve the issues.
Mian Faryad Ahmad said that due to the ever rising value of dollar is making import difficult for the importers while shipping lines have also raised their rates beyond 200 percent which is another major bottleneck.
He said that all these issues need urgent attention of the trade and industry leadership and government functionaries.
Imran Bashir said that the Pakistani traders and industrialists must be facilitated in similar manners in China as the Chinese businessmen are being taken care of by the Pakistani government.
