Lebanon PM Designate Recuses Himself from Forming New Cabinet

Beirut, Sept 26 (AFP/APP): Lebanon’s premier designate recused himself from forming a new cabinet Saturday as international pressure mounts for a reform-minded government to replace the one that resigned after a deadly August port blast.
“I excuse myself from continuing the task of forming the government”, Mustapha Adib said in a televised speech after drawn-out talks to produce a line-up approved by the country’s competing political forces.
