Lahore, August 24 (Online): The management and paramedical staff of Lahore General Hospital will remain on alert during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Dr Sardar Mohammad Al-freed Zafar has instructed the staff in emergency section to avoid leaves without the permission of the Medical Superintendent.

The hospital will also deploy additional staff in the CoD on 9th and 10th Muharram. Principal PGMI directed Director Emergency Dr Rana Muhammad Shafiq to make special arrangements for immediate medical aid to those affected by chainsaw and to provide separate beds for the mourners so that other patients coming in these days could also be treated and routing work could also be continued.

Dr Al-freed Zafar directed AMS Pharmacy to take all possible steps to provide ample stock of life saving medicines in the emergency ward. He also directed the blood bank in-charge that he should ensure keep sufficient stock of blood of different groups till Ashura day so that they would not face any problem if blood required. Principal PGMI said that outdoor activities will be closed on Ashura day and that staff will be deployed in the emergency.

Principal said that Ashura Day teaches us patience and sacrifice and we should also realize our responsibilities on the occasion of this day. He assured that LGH, like every other year, would make complete arrangements for any situation on the occasion of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram this year and would ensure the provision of best medical facilities especially for the mourners.

Principal LGH also directed the security staff to remain vigilant and perform their duties efficiently so that patient and mourners coming to the hospital should not face any difficulty.
