LHC moved against CAA Aerodrome Certificate to Lahore Airport runway

A writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) to declare the Aerodrome Certificate, Issued by the Director General Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that, the main runway of Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore (AIIP) is certified as 4F  as illegal & unlawful in the “eyes of law”.

The writ petition prayed Court to declare the impugned Aerodrome certificate, issued by the Respondent no. 2 & 4 that, the main runway (36R/ 18L) of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore is certified as 4F dated 27.07.22, as illegal & unlawful in eyes of law.

“That the honorable court, may kindly suspend the operation of the Aerodrome certificate, issued by the Respondent no. 2 & 4 that, the main runway (36R/ 18L) of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore is certified as 4F dated 27.07.22, till the final outcome of the main writ petition.”

“That a high level commission with experts may kindly be constituted to reevaluate the main runway (36R/ 18L) of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore for its correct categorization & quality of construction work.”

“That the honorable may kindly also initiate criminal proceedings against those, who are involved in the criminal act of declaring it 4F runway instead of 4E. That the honorable court, may kindly pass a direction to the respondents, not to pass any adverse order against the petitioner till in lieu of the writ petition in hand.’

“Any other relief this honorable court may deem fit & appropriate may also be awarded.”

“The petitioner citified that this petition is the first petition.”

The petitioner Zarain Gul Durrani, son of Khuda Baksh Khan, working as Joint Director Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) made respondents include Federation of Pakistan through Secretary Aviation Division, Kohosar Block, Pak Secretariat, Islamabad, PCAA through its Director General, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, PCAA, through its Deputy Director General Regulatory,Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, through its Director of Dint Directorate of Aerodrome & Airspace Regulations,Allama Iqbal new International Airport, PCAA through its Director Planning angle & Development,Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Director Operations, AIIP, PCAA Director Engineering Services, AIIP.
