LHC orders release of Ch Pervaiz Elahi

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued an order for the release of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, a PTI leader and former Punjab chief minister. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi appeared in the court of Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafique, who was presiding over a case related to the alleged non-compliance with a court order prohibiting the former chief minister’s arrest.

During the hearing of Pervaiz Elahi’s petition, Justice Amjad Rafique inquired whether anyone had informed the accountability court that the intra-court appeal had been dismissed.

The NAB prosecutor indicated that he was not aware of this development.

In response, the LHC judge stated that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the matter. However, for the time being, the court has ordered the release of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
