Lhr-Isl Toll tax increased, notification issued
According to reports, toll tax has been increased by 10% once again. Islamabad-Lahore Motorway toll tax has been increased from Rs 750 to Rs 830.
According to the details, the toll tax has been increased once again in the PTI government. This time the toll tax has been increased by ten percent. After which the people have to pay Rs 830 toll tax from Lahore to Islamabad.
Toll tax has been increased from August 26, 2020. Notification has also been issued for 10% increase in Lahore-Islamabad Motorway toll tax. According to the notification, toll tax of Islamabad-Lahore Motorway has been increased from Rs 750 to Rs 830. Toll tax for Lahore-Islamabad bus has been increased from Rs 2,510 to Rs 2,770.
In a statement issued on February 10, 2020, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed said that the last increase in toll tax on motorways took place in 2018 during the PML-N era. The agreement to increase the toll tax by 10% every year was reached during the PML-N era.
During Question Hour in the National Assembly, in reply to a question by Chaudhry Muhammad Burjis Tahir, Murad Saeed said that toll tax is increased for three years but it is increased if required. In our time, national taxes have not increased. The last time a toll was raised was in July 2018.
Murad Saeed said that in 2014, an agreement was reached to increase the toll tax on motorways by 10% every year during the PML-N era. In our era, an additional revenue of Rs. 27.97 billion was collected. The toll has not increased in our time. Judges, security agencies, ambulances and 1122 vehicles are exempt from toll tax.
