Life changing experience

Everyday we hear all sorts of news. Some days we listen to very exciting news and events that dwarf all else. Such was a day when we headed for Gujrat university.

I had spoken to the Vice Chancellor (VC) at the University of Gujrat, Mr Shabbar, that since Kim [Kimberly Langen] is here let’s get her to speak and communicate with the faculty and students. They do arrange such seminars for luminaries such as Kim. Very graciously he acceded to my request and on the 2nd of March, 2020 we were scheduled to make a trip to the UOG.

Pakistani student confident China will win battle against coronavirus

Kim is a friend who has arrived from Canada. She is an international speaker. CEO and Co-founder of SOM [Spirit of Math]. She is basically an expert at Maths with mathematical skills that know no bounds. She is endowed with tremendous mental and physical ability. A good natured person with affable manners who has endeared herself quite nicely and comfortably in the gentry that she is now working with. She brightens up the environment with her presence and her undying ceaseless charm that she may exude for her enthralling audiences.

Coronavirus: Court orders Ministers to visit Wuhan

I had seen her speak on a few occasions. I am personally a fan of hers for her indomitable strength and interminable travel that she makes in pursuit of her desire to impart education across the globe. Her own campuses in Canada fill in 11,000 students. Many still await absorption in their system of academia. It’s no body’s business. She is a workaholic. Even the coronavirus couldn’t do much to upset her routine. She is a strong willed lady clambering on with the same zeal and zest in her quest to release the genius in every child that she possibly can.
She is prepared to help and teach the under privileged providing them with an equal opportunity that they otherwise wouldn’t have thought of, which is just one of her major quests.

Chinese university develops rapid test kit for novel coronavirus

7.30 am in the morning she was at the door waiting in her car impatiently. I was unwillingly trying to muster strength I knew it would mean a busy day ahead with successive events to follow. Anyways, Kim, Zorain and myself we drove off. Thanks to the newly built eastern section on our ring road [great job done by the authorities] and something tangible to be happy about. It saves so much time. I mean the thought of Imamia colony and zigzagging through the busiest Shadara and Ravi gave you tremors. It’s all avoidable now. From phase 6 Defence you barely make it in 20 minutes to get to Kala Shah Kaku. Absutely fantastic.

The names change but the regime’s remain

Going to Gujrat was a hassle and through this new development it’s so convenient. You meander through wide roads seeing all spectacular sights.

Finally at quarter to eleven we were at the university. Smartly turned out staff was there to greet us. We were escorted in to the VC’s office. Dr. Shabbar was a well dressed man who welcomed us with open arms, and sounded like a clear headed man who knew what he was doing. He had a grasp over a number of issues and knew his subject. We could make out in no time that with his kind of vision the university is bound to make a rapid progress.

Ghana Ali arrives in Japan to shoot for new project

He was very hospitable. He served us aromatic coffee. Exchange of ideas took place between the two. Later we were escorted to the Quaid-e-Azam hall . It’s a huge hall where seminars are held. With state of the art, top of the line, sound systems in place.

The hall was full of students, the lecturers, faculty members and other prominent people. Mr. Fahim the former Vice Chancellor was also amongst the prominent ones.

Kim was soon called upon the podium to address the gathering.

Kim addressed the students. She spoke about education and its importance in modern day times. It is imperative that the students changed their life styles considering the rapid development in human behaviour and their changing attitudes. You have to learn to amend, create and innovate. That comes through wide based learning. It does not come through conventional means now.

After her inspiring lecture, she had to answer certain questions that some of the students had posed to her.

COAS Extension Saga

After a marathon of talking session. I saw the honourable VC walking up to the podium. Someone handed him a book which I could see from far off distance. He called upon me to come up on the stage. I made it to the stage and he said that they had made a compilation of my articles that I had written over the months and years. The initial compilation, in form of a book was now being presented to me. Titled Haroon’s Archives, the book was presented to me. With a photo on the back cover and a nice old quote which I probably had used in one of my articles before.

[bs-quote quote=”This was probably the happiest moment in my life. The fulfillment of my social obligations and service to people which I remain obliged to. This was probably the best gift I have ever received in my whole life.” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″ author_name=”Mian Haroon Masood” author_job=”Pakistani Political Leader”][/bs-quote]

The high side of this whole drama is that I was being awarded a book in the same university the dream of which I had conceived 20 years ago. I had gotten the approval from Governor Khalid Maqbool for the up-gradation of Zamindara college as an autonomous university. I was the principal architect for the establishment of Zamindara college as the university.

Amazon Rain-forest: A Physical Representation of Existing Global Issues

Later when perhaps Elahi sahib became the Chief Minister and Imran Masood to be his cabinet member as Minister Education, then they thought of building a purpose built institution to be named as university of Gujrat, and Alhamdolillah the dream came to life. Standing there I felt a cold shudder which ran down my body. A historic moment and an unforgettable one. The Vice Chancellor generously announced this was just a compilation, the book would be launched later on with more articles to come yet.

[bs-quote quote=”It was a life changing experience. I had thanked Almighty Allah for this gift and hardship I endured while writing.” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″ author_name=”Mian Haroon Masood” author_job=”Pakistani Political Leader”][/bs-quote]

I am thankful to all who have been there for me in supporting my cause of enlightenment for all. I will dedicate my life to the noble cause of learning. Together with my son Zorain, a young and aspiring son of the soil who has taken it upon himself as country head, Spirit of Maths, Pakistan that he will leave no stone unturned in educating masses particularly helping the students from the underprivileged areas and affording them with an equal opportunity. We intend to do more.

First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself
and clear your head before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing
my thoughts in getting my thoughts out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
    Cheers!

Good day! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog
platform are you using for this site? I’m getting tired of
Wordpress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m
looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me
in the direction of a good platform.
