Life Tips by Mehreen: Top 3 Pakistani Dramas to watch this season

Pakistan drama industry is at its peak and producing quality content for the viewers not only with a purpose to entertain but also to highlight social issues prevailing in our society. The combination of experienced actors and the new talent is simply awesome, giving the viewers an entertainment cum therapy.
The public is glued to their screens to watch a variety of dramas comprising of good screen play, direction, production and the acting skills to go with all this. Several important issues are being addressed in our Pakistani dramas to create awareness among people and to curb social evils. Although some still need improvement and better content but as a whole our drama industry has improved a lot in terms of direction and content. Many bold subjects are also shown which is a step towards a better and advanced society.

Here at Baaghi TV, we have compiled a list of top 3 trending dramas in the month of February 2020, which are being aired on different channels.
A. Ehd-e-Wafa:
Top of the list is drama Ehd e Wafa, which is telecasted every Sunday at 8 pm on Hum TV and PTV World, simultaneously. This drama is an ISPR sponsored production, written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan.
This drama covers the story of four friends and their struggle to strive for their lives. The most interesting part of this drama liked by the viewers is the Army life shown in it. The dramas based on our Pakistan Army have always been a craze among people, be it Sunehray Din or Alpha Bravo Charlie. This drama was thought to be a sequel to the previous ones, but it has diversity and shows four different aspects of the protagonists in it.
The cast of this drama shows a variety in their characters and roles they depict and some new talent have shown real potential as far as their acting skills.
Ahad Raza Mir being the major star of this drama is playing his role opposite Alizeh Shah, Osman Khalid Butt is cast alongside Zara Noor Abbas, Ahmed Ali Akbar and then we have a new actor Wahaj Ali introduced in this drama cast opposite Hajra Yamin. The model Vaneeza Ahmed depicts a role of a loving mom, which she plays really well and not to miss another new star, Adnan Samad Khan who is playing the role of Ahad’s course-mate and friend at PMA (Pakistan Military Academy).
This drama, which is nearing its end, is quite different from our common saas-bahu plays and is to be remembered for a long time for its simplicity and relatability to a common man.
B. Yeh Dil Mera:
Drama Yeh Dil Mera is a thriller and mystery shown on Hum TV, every Wednesday at 8 pm, produced by Momina Duraid Productions, directed by Ahsan Taalish and written by Farhat Ishtiaq. This drama is going very strong, with a gripping script and acting of its cast.
We have after a very long time, a thrilling drama to watch, the actors in this play have done justice to their roles. It revolves around a love story of a couple with mysteries to unfold. The heroine’s father who is indeed an antagonist for the hero, plays such a loving father in this drama that one just draws to that role. The hero and the heroine are two people who have suffered trauma in their lives and are victims, it is their journey in life and the love between them that holds the play till the last second of the airtime.
The popular star cast includes Adnan Siddiqui as the heroine’s loving father, Ahad Raza Mir as the hero creating mystery and intrigue through his character and Sajal Ali essays the role of his beloved.
The acting of all the characters is very strong and they have done justice to their roles, apart from the slow beginning, this drama is gaining pace rapidly now.
C. Alif:
The 3rd drama on the list is Alif, shown on Geo Entertainment TV, every Saturday at 8 pm. This drama is produced by Sana Shahnawaz and Samina Hamayun Saeed, directed by Haseeb Hassan and written by Umera Ahmed. It is basically based on the novel written by Umera Ahmed by the same name.
This is an amazing drama based on spiritualism, depicting how a rebellious modern day film-maker turns into a spiritual person. The heroine of this drama is shown as a struggling movie actress in the beginning and then goes on to become an acclaimed international star. This drama shows how both come across the same path and understand the terminology of the alphabet Alif, illustrating the bond of a human being with his God.
The outstanding cast includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, shown after a long time in a TV play, working alongside Sajal Ali, both essay very strong roles and powerful acting.
It is note worthy to mention Ahsan Khan, Kubra Khan, Saleem Miraj, Manzur Sehbai, playing the role of Hamza’s grandfather which outshines any other in the drama and last but not the least, child star, Pehlaaj Hassan who has very innocently played his character.
This drama has a very strong story line and was much awaited, but due to its slow progress this drama lost some interest in the beginning but has now gained its viewer ship back after being on track.
There are many more dramas that are being on aired on a lot of our TV channels with substantial material and powerful acting.
