Lockdown to be lifted from Saturday in Pakistan

According to the recent development, the imposed lockdown will be lifted on Saturday across the country.

The decision was taken during the meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) today that was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The meeting was by all the four chief ministers and certain federal ministers, high ranking military officials, and chairman NDMA.via video conference.

Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Health Advisor gave a briefing on the current situation.

Earlier on Wednesday, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) proposed multiple recommendations to ease lockdown restrictions in the country which were imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Notably, the decision to lift lockdown came amid the exceptional surge in COVID-19 cases as Pakistan has witnessed a spike in coronavirus cases as the number surged to 24,073 in the country, while the death toll stands at 564.

According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 1,523 cases of coronavirus were reported while 38 people died due to the disease in the last 24 hours.

As many as 6,464 patients have recovered from the disease, while 153 are said to be critical as the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
