Madam Noor Jehan as remembered fondly by her daughters

Lahore, 23rd December: Today marks the 20th death anniversary of the music icon, Malka-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan who ruled the Pakistan showbiz industry for many years.

Today, on her 20th death anniversary, her daughters, Hina Durrani, Mina Hassan and Nazia Ejaz Khan fondly remember their mother.

According to a news article published in Dawn Images, Noor Jehan’s daughter recalled their mother as one of the greatest and most influential singers in all of South Asia, her magnificent career in the public eye and her loving nature in private.

The video was released on Durrani’s new YouTube channel where she can be seen divulging her wisdom and life experiences.

The daughters informed the people about the lesser-known facts on their mother, saying, “Mother had an older sister, Api Eedat, who was gorgeous, looked like Kate Winslet and was like a mother figure to our mother.”

However, most of the time Huma ji, their aunt used to tend for the daughter’s when their mom was out establishing her singing career.

The daughters shared a fond memory about their mother on how on different occasions Madam Noor Jehan used to make breakfast for her ex-spouse Ejaz. They informed, despite being separating from her husband, she always maintained a relationship of mutual respect with him as he held the status of the father of her children.

The sisters described that their mother adored them and her six children were the entire world. Though she sent her three daughters to a boarding school after her divorce, Noor Jehan would miss them terribly.

They also fondly tell that she never saw a fault in her kids. All her days, nights and free moments were reserved for them, and that’s why they have taken so many traits from her. They tell hat we’re all similar mothers to our own kids now.

“She not only had a great voice but also a great personality. Many fans would come, especially at odd times when we were in London, and I’ve never seen her say no to them,” says one of the sisters.

They also tell the fans of Madam Noor Jehan that she was so humble, she never thought of herself as some glorious Madam Noor Jehan.

Her daughters also tell, “She would give a lot of charity, but she would always spot even a beggar or needy woman sitting behind a tree, knowing they need help. She did it all her life.”

This was the larger than life woman who was not only beautiful but charismatic and timeless too.
