A man was apprehended by the police after he was seen ascending one of London’s tallest structures, the Leadenhall Building, commonly known as the “Cheesegrater,” on a Friday morning. Onlookers captured footage of the man climbing the 225-meter-tall (738-foot) skyscraper without any apparent safety equipment.

According to City of London Police Chief Inspector Tom Fisher, the man was arrested for aggravated trespass upon reaching the roof. The incident was reported at 9:06 am, prompting the police to establish a cordon. Officers met the climber on the roof and took him into custody.

The Leadenhall Building ranks as the sixth tallest building in London. In a similar incident in June, a British man was arrested in Seoul, South Korea, while attempting to climb the world’s fifth tallest building, the 123-storey Lotte World Tower, without safety ropes. The 24-year-old climber had to abandon his ascent when authorities intercepted him on the 73rd floor. He was safely lowered into a maintenance cradle before being brought inside the building.
