Islamabad July 6 (Online Int’l): It has been alleged that the first lady’s former husband Khawar Maneka’s hand is behind the appointment of the new FBR chairman.
A credible source told Online that Javed Ghani, the newly appointed FBR chief is a close friend of Khawar Maneka. Maneka and Ghani both were from the customs department and they had good relations.The source said that Maneka was allegedly putting in efforts to secure a top position for Javed Ghani and in this regard, he had met various influential officials in the government to ask them to use their influence. The source said that Khawar Maneka, in spite of his retirement has continued his interference in government affairs and he has been witnessed visiting different ministries for holding meetings with ministers.
Recently, Manika was witnessed in the office of Power Minister Umar Ayub Khan. As Manika’s card reached the table of Omar Ayub Khan, he immediately called him for a meeting despite the fact that there were many other visitors already in the waiting room.The source said that he was there to use his influence for the transfer of a friend.
It is worth mentioning here that Javed Ghani has a close relation with KPK Assembly speaker Mushtaq Ghani as well. The main purpose of his appointment is to implement the Supreme Court orders in connection with Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
