March 27 rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will mark an important event in the history of politics given the ongoing political turmoil between the incumbent government and the Opposition parties, said Afeefa Rao in her YouTube Show ’25th Hour.
During the show, Faisal Rao pointed out that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s independent foreign policy has managed to garner global attention and that he is more focused on working at international level. He added that even if all 172 lawmakers submit no-confidence motion against Imran Khan, this success of the rally would outweigh the results. “Power of people will be decisive for the future of Pakistan,” he said.
When asked about the possibility of reaching to get all 172 members to submit vote of no-confidence, Faisal Rao answered that chances are almost slim to none. Although, it is too early to draw any judgement, it mainly depends upon the allies who they choose to side with.
Speaking about Asif Ali Zardari, Afeefa Rao discussed that rumour has it that Asif Ali Zardari may detach his party from Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) once the political situation is clear but the PPP Co-Chairman has not said anything regarding it. However, it is doubtable that PML-N will be able to recover the same hold in Punjab as they did earlier. PML-Q have managed to emerge as a powerful alternative for grabbing a powerful slot in Punjab but it is only a matter of time till we see the full picture, he said.
It will not come off as a surprise to see Asif Ali Zardari rooting for Punjab government by way of joining alliance with PDM and PML-Q.
The Pakistani politics is not black and white but in grey. If Imran Khan intends to retain power, he will have to be more compromising to avoid further political deterioration, Rao added.
