Maria B: A victim or culprit?

Lahore, 24th March: A story has been shared on social media regarding the renowned fashion designer of Lahore, Maria B and the arrest of her husband Mr.Tahir Saeed.

Maria B and her husband Mr.Tahir Saeed have clearly denied the news on the media, saying it was their responsibility to inform the public about the incident that happened last night at their home.

According to the reports of BaaghiTV, Maria B stated that her husband’s medical reports can be seen and that his coronavirus test is negative.

Informing the incident, Maria B and her husband Tahir Saeed said in their video message that one of their domestic workers had returned to Lahore from Vehari, his village, a few days ago when he showed fever and other symptoms. They took immediate action, feeling obligated to do a medical test at a private lab at their expense, and confined him to a room until the medical report arrived.

Renowned designer Maria B faced with a crisis

As per the couple, if they had not gone through this screening, their house would have been affected first. Later, the report of their cook, Umar Farooq came out positive.

This medical report was a major concern for the entire family. But despite this, they provided Umar Farooq a separate room in the house, where he stayed for some time, but when contacted over the phone, he said that he wanted to stay in his native village.

After that, he assured Mr.Tahir Saeed that there was a separate room for self-isolation in his village where he will stay and not meet anybody.

Maria B’s husband, Tahir Saeed forbade his cook Umar Farooq from traveling on public transport and provided extra money for traveling independently with his brother in a car provided by Maria B and her husband.

Their family was very scared and their first priority was screening everyone, including the whole family and employees, which luckily came negative. The private lab also provided no guidance after Umar Farooq’s medical report.

Talking about the details of the incident, he said that yesterday was a nightmare when the police raided their house and registered a case without inquiry.

There is already a lot of anxiety prevalent in our country over the coronavirus, but they being responsible citizens provided their full support to the authorities in providing the full information of their cook and his reports. They made sure to cooperate with several government agencies, provided the employee’s contact number and address so that he could be placed in the security department.

After that, there was a call from the Public Health and several organizations and the couple informed about the whole situation. The MSK of Vehari District Hospital also called and told them that their cook is feeling better and recovering and is being kept in quarantine.

The couple has appealed to the public that they had informed the authorities about the situation of their cook Umar Farooq. Even then the husband had been forced out of his house during the middle of the night.

If such behavior continues from the police and the authorities, then the public will lose their trust and confidence in the government.
