Markets to be closed before Eid-ul-Azha

Lahore, 19th July 2020: Shopping malls, and markets to be closed 3 days before Eid to keep people safe from coronavirus.
According to reports, due to fears of the spread of coronavirus, the Punjab government has proposed to close shopping malls and markets before Eid.

According to sources, after the increase in Corona cases after Eid-ul-Fitr by the Punjab government, a proposal to close shopping malls and bazaars three days before Eid-ul-Adha has been sent to the federal government.
Sources said that the Punjab government has sent the proposal before Eid keeping in view the possible rush in the markets and Corona SOPs.

However, the final decision will be taken by the federation in consultation. The government’s proposal has been appreciated by medical experts.
It may be mentioned that the number of confirmed patients of Coronavirus in Lahore has crossed 46,000 while the death toll has risen to 789.

101 patients are being treated in isolation wards of government hospitals, 48 in ICU, and 26 patients are on ventilators.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab is 89,465 and 2,067 deaths have been reported in the province.
