Maryam Nawaz Announces Free Education for Poor Children at Punjab’s First Autism School
LAHORE – October 10, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that children from low-income families will receive free education and therapy at the Maryam Nawaz Autism School and Research Center, a pioneering initiative in the province designed to support children with special needs. Chairing a high-level meeting on special education, the Chief Minister lauded Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Sania Ashiq and her team for their exceptional efforts in developing a modern, research-based framework for the center. The meeting approved key initiatives, including the provision of 48 new buses for special education centers across Punjab, the formation of a 13-member Board of Governors, and the three-year strategic plan for the Autism Resource Center.
