Lahore, 6th April: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz submits her reply in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against NAB’s decision over her bail plea.
According to Baaghi TV’s report, after the petition by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to cancel PML-N’s vice president’s bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, Maryam Nawaz submitted her reply to the LHC on Tuesday.
PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz urged the court to not only reject NAB’s petition seeking cancellation of her bail but put a heavy fine against the bureau too.
Maryam Nawaz submitted a six-page reply to the high court stating that the anti-corruption watchdog had remained silent for 14 months in the case before summoning her.
Maryam Nawaz pleaded that the cases filed and arrests by the bureau were supposed to curb their voice against the ruling government.
She added that LHC had already granted her bail in the case on merit after listening to NAB’s stance.
Lahore High Court will hear the petition on Wednesday, April 7.
It is to be noted the NAB has accused the Sharif family of money laundering and illegal money transfer through Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
