Lahore, 24th February: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issues summon orders for the PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz

Baaghi TV: NAB on Wednesday summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz in a Jati Umra land possession case.

According to reports, she has been asked to appear before NAB’s three-member combined investigation team on March 2 at 11 am. She will likely be asked about the case.

As per reports from ARY News, the anti-corruption watchdog in Lahore has initiated an investigation against the Sharif family for illegally acquiring hundreds of acres of land in Raiwind to include it in its Jati Umra residence.

According to earlier reports by Baaghi TV, last year in August, violence had erupted outside NAB’s Lahore office between police personnel and PML-N workers ahead of Maryam Nawaz’s arrival there for a hearing in the land acquisition case.

Many people, including police officials, got injured and some 50 were rounded up after police fired tear gas to disperse the activists. Soon after, NAB had to cancel the hearing as Maryam Nawaz had to turn back due to the clash.
