“Mayday”: Aircraft makes emergency landing in Karachi

Cessna aircraft of Sky Wings Flight Academy made a safe emergency landing at Karachi Airport after sending ‘Mayday’ distress call to the air traffic controller (ATC).

According to the details,  an aircraft of Sky Wings Flight Academy – a flying academy based at the Karachi Airport – narrowly escaped the crash after the pilot called “Mayday” to the ATC at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Monday evening.

Media reports reveal that the entire system of the Cessna training aircraft was jammed after taking off from the runway of Karachi Airport, after which the pilot contacted the control tower.

The pilot said that the plane stopped working due to a system jam, the plane was not under my control, so I had to make a Mayday call. In this emergency, the fire brigade personnel were immediately called to the airport.

However, with the help of the ATC, the plane survived the crash and the captain landed the training aircraft safely on the runway. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that both, the aircraft and the pilot, remained safe in the emergency landing.
