Measures taken by govt lead to significant drop in covid-19 cases in country: NDMA chairman

ISLAMABAD, July 30 (Online): National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal has said  the best measures taken by the government has led to  significant drop  in coronavirus cases in Pakistan. Addressing a ceremony in connection with distribution of ventilators under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Muhammad Afzal thanked the USAID for its cooperation with Pakistan against COVID-19. He further added that the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) and the NDMA played important role to counter the pandemic. We are aware of the coronavirus challenges that Pakistan is facing, he added. It should be known that COVID-19 epidemic has claimed 32 lives while 1,114 positive cases have been reported in 24 hours in the country. 2,138 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 2,189 in Sindh, 1,192 in KP, 136 in Balochistan, 165 in Islamabad, 53 in GB and 51 in Azad Kashmir. National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) latest statistics said  1,114 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours taking the tally to 277,402.
