Meena Harris and Greta Thunberg stand firm against Indian attacks

Lahore, 5th February: Newly-elected US Vice President Kamala Harris’s niece Meena Harris said she stands firm against Indian attacks after speaking out in support of the ongoing Farmers’ Protest in India.

Baaghi TV: International renowned personalities Greta Thunberg and Meena Harris hit back at Indian trolling on Thursday and said that threats won’t intimidate them for supporting the protesting farmers in India.

Climate change activist Thunberg and the niece of US Vice President Kamala Harris have received backlash from India after endorsing the tweet from the American pop icon, Rihanna, over the ongoing farmer’s protest in New Delhi.

Meena Harris recently tweeted, “I won’t be intimidated, and I won’t be silenced.”

Sharing an image of the ongoing protests with her picture on a banner, she tweeted, “I spoke out in support of human rights for Indian farmers, and look at the response.”

Thunberg also issued a strong statement on Twitter after backlash by the Indian government.

She wrote, “I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest. No amount of hate, threats or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest.”

Earlier, Baaghi TV reported that India has threatened to take legal action against the climate activist Greta Thunberg for making sensationalist Twitter comments on farmer protests.

Many Indian celebrities, sportspersons and politicians spoke out in favour of the Modi government and condemned the foreign interference in their matters.

Social media storm got triggered after the US singer Rihanna tweeted a news article by CNN to draw the world attention to the Farmers’ protest in India.

It is pertinent to note here that tens of thousands of farmers have camped on the outskirts of New Delhi since November 2020 to protest against government action to deregulate produce markets.
