Meera all set to star as a ‘Selfie Queen’

Lahore, 11th September: Lollywood’s star Meera is all set to star in a stage play called ‘Selfie Queen’.
According to reports from the Pakistani news website Lens, Pakistan’s favorite actress Meera will work in a stage play named ‘Selfie Queen’.
It is said that due to financial issues and lack of on-screen opportunities, the actress has turned to the theatre in a brand new play.
Meera’s request for financial aid declined
The Lollywood actress will be starring in the play at the Sabina Theatre in Faisalabad.
According to sources, the ‘Baaji’ actress is going through a rough patch in her life and is in dire need of finances.
Just a month ago, Meera requested Punjab Information and Cultural Department’s newly launched Artist Support Fund for Rs. 40 million.
Meera ready to start on a new venture
However, her request was turned down by the council as the chairman of the fund MPA, Sadia Sohail Rani stated that the funds are for poor, struggling artists, not “someone who owns an apartment in Dubai.”
As per rumors going on the mill, the actress suffered a huge loss of around $100,000 after her foreign shows got canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Even the news regarding the Lahore Art Council providing Rs. 5,000 to the ‘Baaji’ star turned out to be false as the council rejected her request.

Written and directed by M Safdar and Shahbaz Rashid, the cast for the play includes Azeem Vicky, Aslam Chatta, Shahid Hashmi, Gamma BA, Anisha Khan, Sheila Chaudhry, and Manahil Noor, among others.
Left with no other option, now the actress has decided to star in a stage play called ‘Selfie Queen’, that is reported to start today, the 11th of September at the Shabina Theater in Faisalabad.
