Meesha Shafi and her Feminist Brigade: Unveiling the Ugly Truth

Lahore, 6th January: Women of the so-called feminist brigade are being exposed one by one.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, the band of women who are supporting the singer Meesha Shafi in her ‘Me Too’ movement against popstar Ali Zafar, are found to be involved in illegal activities of their own.

First, it was Nighat Dad, Meesha Shafi’s lawyer who got exposed for running an illegal NGO. According to the earlier reports by Baaghi TV, the NGO run by Nighat Dad was found to be funded by illegal foreign companies.

Now we have discovered some shocking news about Leena Ghani, the artist-turned-activist, who is also one of Meesha Shafi’s best friend.

Baaghi TV had reported last month that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had declared singer Meesha Shafi and eight others guilty of running a defamation campaign on social media against singer Ali Zafar.

It was also reported that Meesha Shafi, actor Iffat Omar, Maham Javaid, Leena Ghani, Haseemus Zaman, Fariha Ayub, Syed Faizan Raza, Humna Raza, and Ali Gul Pir were summoned by the FIA for their alleged involvement in a vilification campaign against Ali Zafar.

Suleman Ghani

It has been found that Leena Ghani, is the daughter of Suleman Ghani, who was the ex-chairman Planning and Development, Punjab.

It has been learnt that Mr Ghani was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) back in Oct 2019 for not raising any objection to a mining contract in a board meeting of PUNJMIN (Punjab Mineral Department).

According to the reports from Dawn News from Oct 2019, NAB had unearthed local and offshore properties of former Planning and Development Punjab chairman Suleman Ghani, who was in its custody.

It was learnt that the NAB discovered three houses in Lahore, a 20-Kanal plot in Cantt Lahore, an under-construction house on 30 Kanals in Defence Phase VIII, Lahore, and 10-Kanal plot in Phase-V.

He also owns a house in Brussels and an apartment in London, which he allegedly made in the name of his daughters. An apartment on a four-Kanal plot was also made in his daughter’s name.

The NAB initiated its proceedings against Ghani for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.

Story Exposed

This all got exposed once again after a recent tweet by Leena Ghani on her official Twitter account that received strong criticism by social media users.

Ms Ghani shared her new year resolution:

The answer she got back was:

A Twitterati shared the news clipping from the Dawn News publication of Oct 2019 and fired back, “Not men but one man, Suleman Ghani.”

As per sources, Suleman Ghani has been making a lot of money and property in the name of his daughters with the government’s salary.

Maheen Ghani

It is pertinent to note here that Leena Ghani is also the sister of Maheen Ghani, who was the ex-wife of Shahbaz Taseer, a businessman and son of former Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer (late).

Baaghi TV had reported in its March 2020 publication that Maheen Ghani had asked for a large sum of money from Shahbaz Taseer after their separation for the alimony of her daughter.

The report said that Ms Ghani claimed to the entitlement of hundreds of thousands of Pakistani rupees monthly from Shahbaz Taseer. However, on the 7th of March 2020, after hearing the matter a local family court has denied Ghani the entire claim to her desired entitlement in form of any monthly payments from Shahbaz Taseer.

Lies Lies

The series of lies do not end up here.

It has also come to light that Leena Ghani had once lied about Shahbaz Taseer, her ex-brother-in-law, of stealing her painting. However, later, it was discovered that Ms Ghani had privately signed a settlement in which she admitted they were gifted by her to Shahbaz on his wedding.

If these are the women who are heading the feminist movement in Pakistan, then how far will we travel in this war?

They are fighting baseless battles for ulterior motives and are actually degrading the idea of ‘feminism’ for their own benefit.

In a country already struggling to seek equality for both genders, it is because of such people that we may not be able to get their soon for they fight for an idea, only they believe in.
