Meesha Shafi’s petition rejected by LHC

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday dismissed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s plea to dismiss the case of singer Meesha Shafi and others.
Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the Lahore High Court delivered the reserved judgment on the petitions. According to reports, the LHC has rejected the petition by Meesha Shafi and others, with a fine, to dismiss the FIA’s case. Shafi and others had reportedly challenged the FIA case registered against them.

According to reports, the court reserved judgment after the lawyers’ arguments were completed.
In the petition, Meesha Shafi had taken the stand that the FIA had registered Ali Zafar’s case against the facts. However, the FIA registered a case without taking the stand of the accused. The petition sought that the court orders dismiss the case registered by the FIA.
