Meghan Markle’s inspiring words during the ‘Girl-Up Summit’

16th July 2020: Meghan Markle urges young women to create change in the world in the ‘Girl Up Summit’ speech.  According to reports from the Oprah Magazine, Meghan Markle made a powerful speech at the ‘Girl Up Leadership Summit’ on July 14, urging young women “to build each other up,” and work together in the fight against racism and gender equality. Girl Up was created by the UN Foundation in 2010 to support UN agencies that focus on adolescent girls. This year’s Leadership Summit took place virtually, and there were nearly 40,000 attendees, ages 13-22, across 172 countries. Meghan Markle, Michelle Obama and Priyanka Chopra team up for a project “The moment we are living through right now asks all of us to do more. It’s a moment where your voices, and your action, have never been more urgently needed,” the Duchess told the crowd. “The path to get there will take all of us: girls and women, men and boys.
