Military helicopter crashes in Zimbabwe

A military helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff in Zimbabwe’s capital, killing three passengers and a child at home.

According to the International News Agency, a military helicopter carrying two pilots and a technician flew a routine training flight from Zimbabwe, shortly after which the helicopter lost contact with the control tower and a search operation was launched.

After the search operation, the bodies of 3 personnel were recovered from the helicopter while a minor child in the house was also killed.

Zimbabwe cannot buy new helicopters for its air force due to international sanctions, so old and rotten helicopters are part of the fleet and such accidents are common.
