Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Mughal, owner of Centaurus mall is accused of a mega scam. This report sheds a searchlight into the secretive world of Sardar where he is found involved in a series of scams and scandals.

Earlier, Adnan Maqsood a law abiding overseas Pakistani citizen went to NAB in order to report Sardar’s malpractices.

According to the applicant, the state of the art project in Islamabad, Centaurus Mall, a multistory residential and commercial building remained under the impression that the management of the above mentioned mall is acting strictly in accordance with the law.

However, it was informed quite recently that the management is involved in tax evasion since long while utilizing the machinery illegally.

In this regard, the glaring example of heavy duty generator having been installed in the said project since 2013 are speaking volume loud regarding the actions of the management of Centaurus Mall.

Sardar showed almost no fear of consequences when he borrowed a land cruiser worth 7 million from Ahmed Maqsood and never returned back.

Ahmad Maqsood revealed that a criminal case was registered against Sardar for not returning his land cruiser.

However, the police officials were reluctant to register FIR against him. Interestingly, FIR was launched against the applicant right after two months.

Later, Ahmad maqsood filed a writ at high court and also took stay against cancellation of his 43 plots and 2 commercial properties he booked in Taj Residencia.

Consequently, the court demanded the police to present the report on the matter

It is pertinent to mention here that the management of the mall has been clearly breaching the law by utilizing the residential area of the Centaurus mall for commercial use. More so, the management has also constructed offices within the parking area minimizing the space resulting into nuisance and rush on either sides of the building.

In an extraordinary broadside, the Centaurus Mall is also utilizing the sold flats and properties of other persons for the purpose of advertisement without bringing this in the consent of their owners.

The residents’ allegations paint a consistent and troubling picture of how Centaurus Residencia guards treat them and their guests. They ban guests from the property without cause and, often, without informing them that they’ve been barred.

Moreover, there are reports of a number of maintenance issues like power breakdowns, which have been pointed out by the residents multiple times but are being neglected by the mall authorities. Numerous complainants have contacted us with their grievances regarding the poor management.

Another major problem for residents, as well as for the mall’s visitors, is lack of parking space. It has been noticed that Sardar’s grand vehicle envoy occupies most of the area, leaving less space for common people to park their vehicles.

Perhaps most worryingly, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, the billionaire shopping centre tycoon is also accused of tax evasion which does not justify his portfolio to hold the prestigious position of Chairman Investment Board Punjab.

As per Mr Ahmad Maqsood, Sardar Tanveer is probably just one of many billionaires who lie about being billionaires. He continued giving FBR deflated accounts of his wealth.

Here, the question concerns accountability. The problem of a complete lack of accountability within the police system parallels the demise of accountability throughout our nation. If you are a wealthy politician or businessman, the law rarely applies to you. Likewise, the authorities are acting as pawns in the hands of the management of Centaurus Mall.
