Oct 26, 2021: A Lahore court has rejected a petition seeking remand of Rambo in police custody in a Minar Pakistan harassment case.
Rambo, a friend of the victim, was arrested after the victim accused Minar Pakistan of planning the August 14 incident. He was sent to jail on judicial remand earlier this month. However, the police could not complete the investigation of the case and the investigating officer filed a petition before the Judicial Magistrate, requesting police custody of Rambo.
According to the request, the officer said that the FIA had to conduct a forensic analysis of Rambo’s voice messages and for that the police should take Rambo into their custody.
The court remarked that the accused has been sent to jail on judicial remand. The magistrate rejected the plea, saying the investigation should have been completed during the physical remand. Rambo and eight other suspects were arrested by Lahore police on October 8.
The arrests were made after the victim named Rambo and 12 others as responsible for the incident. Rambo was arrested on charges of “blackmailing” and “indecent videos” of the victim.
An audio clip of Rambo and the victim surfaced on social media earlier this month. According to police, it was revealed that the two were planning to extort money from the accused in the case. On October 12, the woman lodged a complaint against Ali Shah of Rawalpindi at the Shahdara Police Station in Lahore. She said he and his accomplices were threatening to kill him.
