Minister orders foolproof security for Kashmir Solidarity Day events
LAHORE, Feb 04 (APP): Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Muhammad Basharat Raja on Tuesday directed the law-enforcing agencies (LEAs) to make stringent security arrangements for the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Kabaddi World Cup, commencing from Feb 9, Rawalpindi cricket test match and PSL cricket matches. He was presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order at the Civil Secretariat here. The meeting was also attended by Punjab Minister for Population Welfare Rao Hashim Dogar, Minister for Sports Taimur Ahmed Khan, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Chairman Sohail Zafar Cheema, Additional Chief Secretary Home Momin Agha, Additional IGP Punjab and other officers concerned. The LEAs heads briefed the committee on security arrangements while administrative heads of the respective divisions and districts presented their security plans via video link. The committee was informed that during all international matches, there would be strict security around the routes, residences of foreigners and stadiums, while the Punjab police as well as Pakistan Army and Rangers would be deployed as per need.
