Lahore: Head Coach and Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Misbah-ul-Haq, has revealed the two principles on the basis of which the team has been selected for the tour of England. According to reports, preference has been given to players who can play two formats.

During a video-link press conference, Misbah remarked that Wahab Riaz will also be available for the Test matches. He said that watching the England vs West Indies test series will help the team to prepare for their own series against England. Given the unusual situation due to the corona virus, it was important to ensure that the squads for both squads remain balanced.

The Chief Selector and Coach also observed that there will not be any additional games on this tour and nor will the local bowlers be available for practice, therefore ten fast bowlers have been added to the squad. He said that the presence on the tour of Younis Khan as a batting coach will be a great help.

He said that Muhammad Rizwan will be the first-choice wicketkeeper and Sarfaraz Ahmed will serve as backup. He said that Sohail Khan has been added to the team on the basis of a good performance on the last tour of England. He also said that Sohail Tanvir is performing well but for this tour we have given preference to players who can represent us in both formats.
