Mobile Management System to be introduced for Weather Forecasting, NDMA

The authority planned to use 3G and 4G technology to detect natural disasters

The spokesperson for National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) informed Senate Standing Committee for Information Technology on Monday, about the system to be introduced which will use 3G and 4G telecommunication technology to detect the natural disasters.

NDMA briefed about the mobile management system that would be established to forecast weather. Furthermore, the digital model had been prepared for the use of 3G and 4G technology to detect and collect date for earthquake and flood.

The senate body agreed in bringing changes in the rules and regulations regarding NDMA. A summary had been sent to federal government to introduce National Disaster Response Force which will undergo immediate actions on for any disastrous situation detected.

Earlier, Media Studio Department (MSD) and Information Technology Center (ITC) were launched by Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) to keep public informed of the weather forecast. For the cause, YouTube channel and a mobile Application had been launched.
