In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Narendra Modi-led Indian government seems to be in a hurry to change the demography of the territory, particularly Jammu region, to restrict Muslim seats through delimitation commission, set up by New Delhi for fixing Assembly and Parliamentary seats on the basis of population in the territory.
To actualize the Modi’s dream, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma has asked the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu region to expedite the process of issuance of domicile certificates in their respective districts in the region.
He issued the directions while chairing a meeting convened to review the progress in the issuance of domicile certificates in the districts.The Deputy Commissioners apprised him about the certificates issued so for in their respective districts. Sanjeev Verma was informed that process of issuance of domicile certificates is in full swing in all the districts of the Jammu region.
The meeting was informed that 82 thousand domiciles certificates have been issued in the Doda district through offline and online mode and the process is on to dispose of pending applications at the earliest.
In Rajouri, a total 94 thousand domicile certificates have been issued so far in the district through offline and online modes and the process is on to clear pendency at the earliest, the meeting was told. Sanjeev Verma.
Meanwhile, to provide Domicile certificates at the door steps, a camp was organised at Narwal pain Satwari by Tehsildar Jammu South S .Harjeet Singh in collaboration with social activist Preety Chowdhary where more than 500 domicile certificates were issued to people on spot.
According to J&K Grant Domicile Certificate (Production) Rules, all those living in Jammu and Kashmir for more than 15 years can apply for the certificate. So far 14000 domicile certificates have been issued in Tehsil Jammu South.
