The Taliban government has announced on Saturday the sighting of Shawwal moon in Afghanistan and May 1, 2022 (tomorrow) will the first day of Eid in the country.
According to Maulvi Abdul Hakim, head of the Supreme Court of Afghanistan, moon has been sighted in the country and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday. As per Afghan Interior Ministry, the moon has been sighted in Farah, Ghazni, Kandahar and Ghor areas of Aghanistan,
Taliban spokesman and Deputy Information Minister Zabehullah Mujahid also announced Eid al-Fitr and congratulated all Afghans on Eid on his official Twitter account.
“The head of the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate and chairman of the monthly committee, Shaykh-ul-Hadith Maulvi Abdul Hakim, announced that tomorrow is the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr across the country. On this occasion, we congratulate all the countries on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr,” he tweeted.

It should be noted that the moon of Shawwal has not been seen in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), after which Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, 2022.
