Moonis Elahi gets bail in Rs720m money laundering case till July 14th
A special court (offense in banks) on Monday granted interim bail to PMLQ leader and MNA Moonis Elahi— son of Punjab Assembly speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi— in a case of alleged money laundering registered by the federal investigation agency (FIA).
The court allowed bail to Moonis till July 14 and directed him to join the investigation before the FIA.
Earlier, a banking court in Lahore on June 22nd granted interim bail to PML-Q’s senior leader Moonis Elahi till July 4 in a case pertaining to money laundering worth Rs720 million.
FIA had registered money launching a case against Moonis Elahi who initially moved a petition for pre-arrest bail before a special court (Central-I) in the money laundering case, the court, however, returned the petition saying it lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter.
