Karachi: The opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) fifth edition will be held today at the National Stadium, Karachi.
The opening ceremony will be held at the National Stadium Karachi prior to the inaugural fixture between defending champions Quetta Gladiators and two-time champions Islamabad United where as many as 350 artists will perform. A few prominent names include Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali, Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Asim Azhar, Aima Baig, Sanam Marvi and Haroon.
The metropolitan city is expected to be set alight as artists from different music genres – sufi, pop, rock, bhangra and folk – will come together to perform at the biggest opening ceremony of PSL history. On this occasion, very strict security arrangements have been made throughout the city.

Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that strict security arrangements have been made for PSL in Karachi.
This is the first time that PSL tournament is being held in the country and it is one of the biggest tournaments to take place in Pakistan since the Asia Cup back in 2008.
