MP plans to propose bill to strip Harry, Meghan of royal titles

Bob Seely, a conservative Member of Parliament (MP) is planning to table a legislation which would strip the royal titles of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex.

The Tory MP told the PA news agency that he could propose he short private member’s bill early next year in an attempt to amend the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act.

If the aforementioned bill is passed, the MPs would then vote on a resolution that could empower the privy council to downgrade Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal status.

MP Bob Seely inquired as to why Prince Harry continues to use royal titles while he keeps tarnishing the Royal Family’s name by attacking the institution of monarchy.

However, bills proposed by individual MPs that lack government or public support rarely secure the required votes to make it through parliament.
