Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) MNA Syed Amin-ul-Haque on Wednesday took oath as the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication.

The oath was administered to him by President Dr Arif Alvi. Later, Amin-ul-Haque arrived at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication located in Kohsar Block at Pak Secretariat and took the charge of his post. He was welcomed by senior officers of the ministry.

Haque has been given the portfolio of federal IT minister after Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who is the convener of the MQM, stepped down after being unable to serve on his post.

Syed Amin ul Haque, the MNA from NA251 Karachi, is also the Member Rabita Committee of MQM Pakistan.

President Office statement issued stated that President Dr Arif Alvi administered oath of office to the new minister at a ceremony held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
