Mr. Cricket UAE Launches Indoor Tournament at Dubai’s Largest Facility
DUBAI: Cricket fever is on with the ODI World Cup starting today in India and Anis Sajan who is fondly known as Mr. Cricket UAE has organized an indoor cricket tournament at Danube Sports World the largest Indoor facility in Dubai.
The tournament is played in the same format as the ICC World Cup with ten franchise teams participating and each team has one country associated with it. Each team will play 9 matches one match against every other team and the top four teams will make it to the semifinals. The teams participating are Synergy representing India, IMJ representing Pakistan, Incredibles representing South Africa, Desert Wolves representing Bangladesh, Thambilli representing Australia, KG Lions representing New Zealand, Strikers representing England, Thambapani representing Sri Lanka, Springfield Stallions representing Netherlands and Neptune representing Afghanistan.

But there is added excitement as almost 300 players will go in the auction and each franchise is allowed to buy 13 players in totality with 2 Platinum, 3 gold players, 4 silver, and 4 in Bronzer category. The idea of having this auction is to make the competition competitive so that no one team can have a strong team. All players bought in the auction on virtual points and team owners and analysts have to be sharp in making sure to bid the right players to make their team strong. Anis Sajan said “I have myself played indoor cricket for almost 20 years and Danube was the number one indoor team for two decades because I had the best players playing for me. Hence I want to have a tournament which is well balanced and no team is strong and any team can beat the other team which makes the competition exciting.”

The total price money for the tournament is a whopping 60dhms and Sajan said that he wanted the players not only to enjoy on the field but also win exciting cash prizes and even the number ten team gets something in return. When asked why he kept such cash incentives Sajan signed up saying “Cricket for me is purely passion and not business”.
