Mufti Muneeb plans to offer recompense after Eid

May 13, 2021: Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, the former chairman of the Ruet Hilal committee says that he will observe one additional day of fasting after Eid this year.

According to famous social media personality, Ali Moeen Nawazish, the decision by Mufti Muneeb comes after there was some disagreement amongst experts as to whether the Eid moon was sighted prematurely or not. He says since Bangladesh and India which are in the same region are not celebrating Eid on the 13th of May and the moon was not sighted there, so he will observe compensatory fast.

He shared these comments in his Eid day address and also urged others to do the same. He also mentioned Fawad Chaudhry’s comments about the Shawal moon sighting.
