Multan people raise ‘Fake Pir’ slogans at PTI Vice Chairman who faces public wrath

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi faced public wrath in Multan Monday night.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi reached at Sooraj Kand Road in the metropolis Multan to campaign for his son who is contesting from PP-217.

PP-217 constituency has 216,996 voters include 115,158 male voters and 101,838 female voters.

People in the Suraj Kund area, predominantly PMLN supporters, started chanting against Qureshi including Jali Pir (fake pir). Resultantly, amid police protection, Shah Mehmood Qureshi had to leave the area. Qureshi remained sat in his car during the whole episode.

On July 17th, a contest will be held on 20 seats in the province.

PP-217 falls under NA-156, won by PTI’s senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in 2018.

For the by-election, the PML-N has fielded Naeem, who was de-seated by the Election Commission for voting against his party PTI’s direction in the chief minister Punjab election polling.

Against him is Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son, Zain Qureshi, who is PTI’s candidate.
