Muslim man killed in police firing as violence grips West Bengal

A 21-year-old Muslim man, Ijaz Momin, died after being shot by police during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act in Murshidabad of West Bengal, India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ijaz succumbed to his injuries at Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital.

Three others—Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh, Hasan Sheikh and an unidentified man—were injured and admitted to Jangipur Hospital. Violent clashes since Friday have left over a dozen protesters injured. Authorities have arrested 150 people so far.
