NA discussed Lahore-Sialkot motorway incident

Islamabad, Sept. 14 (Online):  The National Assembly has discussed the recent incident of molestation of a woman on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway and other such incidents across Pakistan. Initiating the discussion, Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif said incidents of desecration of women are condemnable. He thanked Almighty Allah for culprit has been arrested, saying those, involved in such horrific and horrendous incidents, should be given exemplary punishments to send a strong message to the criminals and to protect citizens’ lives. The Opposition leader proposed the Speaker to constitute a committee of the House to look into the security lapse on the motorway. Minister for Communication Murad Saeed said the State take the responsibility that women can continue their education and jobs. He called for collective efforts to give a joint message of protection to women. PPP Leader Qadir Patel also called for exemplary punishment to the accused. Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said a woman should be respected and given all the due rights entitled to men.
