NAB arrests Jang group CEO in land scam
LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Editor-in-chief of Geo/Jang Group Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman over corrupt practices, on Thursday (today).
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the media tycoon was arrested in Lahore by the anti-corruption watchdog in a case pertaining to the purchase of a 54-kanal land. He purchased the land in Lahore’s Johar Town area during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif as Punjab chief minister in 1986. The land was reportedly acquired in violation of the rules.

Earlier, Mir Shakeel ur Rehman was interrogated for two hours on March 5 and he appeared for the second time today to answer NAB official’s questions. According to sources, the media house owner was unable to answer the questions on which he was detained.
According to sources, instead of answering questions, Rehman continued to threaten NAB by showing off his power and strength. However, the NAB officials arrested Mir Shakeel after he failed to furnish the evidence.
