ISLAMABAD, August 05 (Online Int’l): NAB has constituted a Combined Investigation Team (CIT) to probe into the matter of subsidy allowed to sugar mills owners in the perspective of export of sugar. According to media reports sources have said NAB headquarters referred the matter pertaining to sugar subsidy to its bureau office Rawalpindi on receipt of the letter seeking investigation into the scam.
Different departments have been assigned the task of investigation into this matter from different angles and aspects. NAB Bureau office Rawalpindi held a meeting and a CIT was constituted under Director General NAB Rawalpindi Irfan Mangi.
Irfan Mangi was also member of Combined Investigation Team which was constituted by the Supreme Court to probe into PANAMA Leaks case against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He is also head of the investigation team which is conducting an investigation into fake bank accounts case against Asif Ali Zardari and senior leadership of PPP.
Sources said this CIT would call for a record from all respective departments with reference to subsidy given on export of sugar. The team will summon owners of sugar mills for questioning. The Federal government had directed the concerned authorities on July 28 to launch massive crackdown against sugar mafia and present report thereof within 90 days.
