How did former Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Rao Anwar made assets worth billions of rupees? The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) approved the conversion of the ongoing inquiry against him into an investigation.
According to details, a meeting of NAB Karachi Regional Board was held today in which the recommendation to convert 3 inquiries into investigation was approved. However, the Rao Anwar inquiry has been approved to be turned into an investigation.
NAB approves probe against former SSP Rao Anwar and also ordered to freeze 9 bank accounts of the accused. It is to be noted that billions of rupees have been embezzled in all these accounts.

The NAB has said that former SSP Malir Rao Anwar is accused of amassing assets in excess of his income, which the NAB has approved to turn into an investigation. According to records, the amassed assets are worth more than billions of rupees.
The meeting, on the other hand, recommended a change in the inquiry into National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) officers and others.

In the inquiry, it was alleged that in this case illegal appointments and illegal allowances of millions have been given. Moreover, officers and officials committed irregularities in the purchase of medical equipment.
According to the NAB, it has been recommended to turn the inquiry against Dr Ehsan and Shahid Yousuf into an investigation. The accused caused a loss of Rs 325 crore to the exchequer through corruption.
