The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has handed over a questionnaire comprising 12 queries to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and asked him to submit a reply till August 18 over issuance of a liquor licence to a private hotel.

According to the details, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar appeared before the NAB on August 12, but he was unable to answer NAB’s questions on which a questionnaire was given to him.

Sources say that Usman Buzdar has been asked for details about his salary, sources of income and business details, if there are any. Moreover, NAB has also sought details about his household expenses and domestic bills.

According to sources, the accountability watchdog has sought details of Buzdar’s movable and immovable properties, including inherited properties, and said that if there are any assets on lease or through auction and gifts, their details should also be given.

CM Buzdar has also been asked for details about his trips abroad. Furthermore, NAB has asked for the banking details and details of credit cards and loans of Usman Buzdar and his family members.

Usman Buzdar was also asked to provide the children’s education expenses and other details. Sources said that accountability watchdog has also asked Usman Buzdar for details of properties in the name of family members. These details are sought under sections 19 and 27 of the NAB Ordinance.

It should be noted that under Schedule 4 of the NAB Ordinance, in case of providing false information, the penalty can be 5 years of imprisonment.
