Lahore: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore provided statistics of the accused people that are detained for investigation in various corruption cases and released a comparison of the summoned and arrested.
According to details, approximately 100,000 people have been summoned by NAB Lahore since 2017 and 859 (0.86%) arrest warrants have been issued on the basis of evidence collected during the two-and-a-half years of investigation.
Since the establishment of NAB Lahore in 1999 to 2016, approximately 700,000 people were summoned in various cases and 1,532 (0.22%) accused have been issued arrest warrants after investigation.
NAB is an autonomous agency of the Government of Pakistan formed with the mandate to deal with corruption and raise public awareness. The arrest of the accused is done according to the existing laws and on the basis of concrete evidence.
